From the Krohn Estate, the "Quinta do Retiro Novo" which is situated in one of the noblest parts of the Douro Demarcated Region - the Rio Torto valley, comes this excellent port.
1966 was an outstanding year. A dry spell, lasting from April to September, was followed by rain in late September and the wines produced were very sweet and full of tannins.
Matured for at least seven years to acquire the rich colour of the old tawnies, a fine and complex bouquet, nutty charcater and silky texture the Krohn Colheita 1966 has been awarded 2 Silver Medals - the Challenge International du Vin 2002 and the International Challenge 2003.
