From the Krohn Estate, the "Quinta do Retiro Novo" which is situated in one of the noblest parts of the Douro Demarcated Region - the Rio Torto valley, comes this very special port.
Produced from the harvest of 1961- a year of dry and hot weather which resulted in a production of very ripe, sweet wines, full of fruit and tannin. Matured for at least seven years to acquire the rich colour of the old tawnies, a fine and complex bouquet, nutty charcater and silky texture.
The Krohn Colheita 1961 has won several prizes including 2 silver medals - International Wine Challenge 2003 and Decanter World Wine Awards 2006.
