Dom Perignon Introduction
It was at the Abbey of Hautvillers, during the 17th century, that Dom Pérignon devoted his life to perfecting champagne and spreading its renown. Three centuries later, the same quest continues through the wine that bears his name.
Make “The Best Wine in the world”. I t took a visionary spirit and exceptional doing to set an exalted ambition at the 17th century. But vision and daring were second nature to Pierre Dom Perignon. Before him, there was known as the wine of Reims, of La Montagne and of La Riviere, according to their origins in the Champagne region.
With amazing intuition, Dom Perignon was the first to see the fabulous promise of luxury. He took very ordinary wines and gave them body, spirit and grace. Through his efforts Champagne wine entered a new world.
